ज़ेब्रा

Zebra is best known for its beautiful black and white striped body and its pattern is unique to each individual. Zebras are member of the horse family and they have excellent running speed which is upto 55 kilometre per hour. At present patna zoo has one male (Chhotu) Zebra.

Bengal gram 1.50 Kg.
Wheat- 1.00 kgs.
Bhusa- 5 Kgs.
Sudan/Barseem- 10 Kgs.
Moong- 0.250 Kg.
Jaggary- 0.500 Kg.
It is standard diet and it varies with season to season.

Conservation Status: Near Threatened
They have long noses and eyes on the sides of their head which gives them a wider field of vision.
They weigh about 300 kg and capable of running at speed of 55 km/h.
Gestation is 12 to 13 months. A foal will suckle until 14-16 months of age.
Can walk 20 minutes after birth and can run after an hour!
The male is responsible for guiding the family to water.
Zebra live 20 to 30 years in the wild and up to 40 years in captivity.

ये ज़ेब्रा की लंबी नाक और उनके सिर के किनारों पर आंखें होती हैं जो उन्हें दृष्टि का व्यापक क्षेत्र प्रदान करती हैं।
उनका वजन लगभग 300 किलोग्राम होता है और वे 55 किमी / घंटा की गति से दौड़ने में सक्षम होते हैं।
गर्भकाल 12 से 13 महीने होता है। 14-16 महीने की उम्र तक एक ज़ेब्रा का बच्चा दूध पीता है।
जन्म के 20 मिनट बाद चल सकते हैं और एक घंटे के बाद दौड़ सकते हैं!
परिवार को पानी की तरफ ले जाने के लिए नर जिम्मेदार होते हैं।
ज़ेब्रा जंगल में 20 से 30 साल तक और कैद में 40 साल तक जीवित रह सकते हैं।
